Making wines in Sanlucar de Barrameda since 1821
The history of Bodegas Barbadillo begins in the 19th century, when Benigno Barbadillo and Ortigüela, together with his cousin Manuel López Barbadillo, settled in Sanlúcar de Barrameda from Mexico where Benigno managed to make a fortune. In 1821 they acquired their first winery, called "El Toro", a paradigm of Andalusian architecture, and witness to the origins of Bodegas Barbadillo.
